Expressing what cannot be said

It is known that heavy feelings can be relieved by putting them into words. Talking about what is painful can reduce the pain.

But what if it is impossible not only to begin the conversation, but even to fully become aware of what is happening to us?

There is a way out.

The point is that we can tell about ourselves in different ways. For instance, by drawing, or by expressing our experience creatively in some other form.

The ability to express clearly what troubles us is very valuable.

It helps to separate the unpleasant, frightening event from what we think about it.

Frightening or unpleasant thoughts are hard to cope with.

But when we give them a visible form, it becomes far easier to understand them and to work through them — because much of what I fear on the outside in fact lives inside me.

By learning to express our contradictory experiences, we give ourselves an instrument of self-healing and a means of regaining balance.

We invite you to the course in art Gestalt therapy, where you will be able to learn:

to use art media that are useful for a particular task — your own or the client’s;

to build a strategy of work with long-term clients;

to understand your own preferences and needs;

to build relationships with the people around you.

The course is intended for a wide range of participants:

from students of Gestalt therapy programmes to practising specialists of various orientations who wish to widen their professional repertoire with practical skills and theoretical understanding from the fields of art therapy and the Gestalt approach.

Course leaders:

Mirabella Belilovska, Kyiv:

practising psychologist, certified Gestalt therapist, coach, art therapist, existential and group therapist.

Olena Koshkina, Kyiv:

practising psychologist, certified and accredited Gestalt therapist, family therapist and couples counsellor, trainer of the first stages of the Kyiv Institute of Gestalt and Psychodrama.

Duration of study in the programme:

144 academic hours

(9 practical and therapeutic seminars of 16 hours each)

The meetings take place at weekends in the form of two-day seminar-trainings.
