Tapping is an old Eastern technique that helps reduce stress and cope with traumatic events, and it can be successfully integrated into most psychotherapeutic approaches.

It combines elements of acupuncture and psychology, stimulating particular points on the body with light taps of the fingers.

Interesting Facts About Tapping

Roots of the technique:

Tapping is based on the principles of Chinese medicine, in particular on the meridians along which the life energy “qi” flows.

Scientific support:

Studies show that tapping can lower levels of cortisol – the stress hormone – which helps improve one’s emotional state.

Versatility:

This technique is suitable for all age groups and has no side effects.

A tapping technique you can use today:

Setting up:

Focus on your problem or emotion. For example, say: “Even though I feel stressed, I respect and fully accept myself.”

Tapping:

Using your fingertips, tap lightly on the following points, repeating your set-up phrase:

Beginning of the eyebrows

Sides of the eyes

Under the eyes

Under the nose

Chin

Collarbones

Under the arms

Top of the head

Keep tapping each point 5–7 times, breathing deeply.

Feel your body relax and your emotions come into balance.

Try this simple tapping technique to release tension and restore inner harmony.
